As per the Nation Online…The commissioner on the other hand started saying: “It will be unfair to say that we will be kicking the yellow buses because we will only have unemployment and more problems. Our plan is for drivers to be reformed, trained, and asked to create cooperatives so that they can come together and receive financial incentives, as well as receive buses and pay in installments. ” The again Oladeinde has confirmed about the persistent traffic congestion in the Apapa as well as all the other surrounding area. This is apart from the introduction of the electronic retrieval system.
Furthermore, he said that the government will be doing more so as to restore the axis to sanity. As per him, the state is building all the alternative seaports in Lekki as well as Badagry just to relieve Apapa and all other surrounding areas with the ongoing standstill. Oladeinde said the First and Last Mile (FMLM) buses will be rolled out next month as part of the state’s bus reform initiative to solve the traffic problem. He said 300 buses with e-ticketing validation have been procured for the first phase.
