Convolution with sample atmospheres • SRF obtained from: • http://www.oso.noaa.gov/goes/goes-calibration/goes-imager-srfs.htm • Both RevE and RevD Imager IR SRFs are convolved with 4 sample atmospheric spectra • The U.S. Standard Atmosphere (1976) spectra • A “cold” spectra • A “wet” spectra • A “dry” spectra • Convolution in radiance (mW/m2/ster/cm-1) and then converted to brightness temperature (K) using inverse Planck Function • RevE – RevD shows how the RevE SRFs have changed
