  2. HIP POINTER: Blunt trauma to the pelvic crest and/or the ASIS.. Contusion of the Obliques. In rare circumstance, the pelvic crest can be fractured.

  3. Very painful injury. • Limits abdominal use. • Associated problems. • Icing, tensoring • Physician referral. • Slow to rehabilitate.

  4. Can also use padded ‘pants’ to protect bone.

  5. FEMALE: The area is comprised of loose fatty tissue. Therefore there can be a great deal of bleeding. In a young lady the hymen can rupture.

  6. A VERY ‘SESITIVE’ AREA. Compression is difficult. Icing…. Yes! The major ‘problem’ is the blood in the fatty tissue will organize and become a lump. Bed Rest.

  7. MALE: Scrotal Contusion Spasm of Cremaster muscle. Athlete unable to breathe. Reduce the spasm of the muscle by lifting and dropping the athlete. Examine area. Icing.

  8. If blood builds up in the scrotum, If the scrotum gets more painful throughout the day/night, If still painful 24 hours post injury, MEDICAL!

  9. POSSIBLE PROBLEMS Testicular Torsion Contusion of Testicle Vascular Problems of the Testicle.

  10. Preventing Scrotal Injuries: Wearing of a protective cup. Cup must by of the proper size and the material holding the cup in place must be made of a healthy elastic material.
