Vice President Name: Shannon O’Connor Hometown: Billings, Montana Undergraduate Institution: Johns Hopkins University Academic Program:MD/PhD student, department of Biomedical Engineering (4th year) Former GPSC Position: GA rep for the Medical School Research: Cartilage Tissue Engineering Goals: • Help facilitate efficient, effective, and interesting meetings. • Connect people, and provide the foundation and support for new exciting endeavors!

Vice President • Chair meetings every Tuesday • GA meetings: schedule, set agendas, coordinate speakers, make room reservations, organize meet the rep, answer emails, anticipate questions • Cast deciding vote if there’s a tie! • Exec meetings: schedule, set agendas, answer emails • Set up food schedule • Assure everything runs smoothly! Make it fun! • I’m the “go-to” person for internal affairs of GPSC • Committees • Executive Board chairs • Coordinate contact between schools when requested • Edit GPSC news • Organize Retreat • Goals, speaker, venue, food, agenda, run • Coordinate with the President • Make sure the organization is meeting its goals • Attend functions, meetings with administrators and BoT, etc • Make sure people’s time is well spent!

Name: Chris Marsicano Hometown: Charlotte, NC Undergraduate Institution: Davidson College Academic Program: Master of Public Policy Former GPSC Position: Member of the General Assembly Research/Academic Interests: The manner in which colleges and universities operate and participate in community and economic development.

What do I do? • Chief Judicial Officer of GPSC • Responsibilities: • Act as Parliamentarian for the General Assembly • Review By-laws each year for revisions • Chair Judicial Committee • Serve on Executive Committee • Try cases of gross misconduct within the General Assembly and Executive Board

Why should you do what I do? • The by-laws are super fun… well they will be. • You get to work with a dedicated, fun group of people in the Judicial Committee. • You get $100 (Well, not you, but the committee… Nanataco anyone?). • You get to hang out with the Executive Committee (and they are relatively cool too).

Treasurer Amol Yadav • Who am I ? • 3rd year PhD student, BME • Spinal cord stimulation for treating Parkinson's Disease • What I do ? • Manage GPSC accounts, approve expenses, maintain receipts and reimbursements and prepare annual budget. • Chair Finance committee, manage student groups funding • What I’ve tried this year: • Make funding process more transparent, easier and peaceful. • Update GA regularly about finances • Research current fee structure

  21. Time and Vision Depends…2-3 hrs per week, 5-6 hrs per event, planning, emails, arranging contacts… Utilize facebook group to increase volunteer awareness Encourage volunteerism in graduate students by competition (school that logs the most volunteer hours)
