  1. Techno For Tanzania

  2. Here you can see that I am formatting a 3 ½ inch floppy disk. I am doing this to delete everything off the disk. This is usually done once the items on the floppy disc are no longer needed anymore.

  3. Here you can see me installing the F- Secure anti-virus protection software. This software allows the user to surf the internet risk free.

  4. In this picture I am installing anti-virus software I am doing this to protect the computer from various malicious attacks, including spyware, viruses and trojans. Without this the computer would probably get infected if it is set up to the internet and you often download items.

  5. In this picture I am downloading the anti virus software. (See previous Slide)

  6. Here I am installing windows service pack 2 patches. I am installing this to make my windows applications better and have more stuff on them. This can range from better software or to patch up problems with the previous service pack.

  7. In this picture I am doing a disk defragment, I am doing this to make the computer faster and more efficient. When doing this the files are moved and compressed to create more space allowing the computer to move faster.

  8. Here I am telling the computer to scan all local hard disks. This will scan it for viruses and delete them. It is being set to a automatic time so the user doesn't have to keep starting it everytime they need to. Instead it does it the exact time and date that it is set too.

  9. This is telling the computer to scan all local hard disks weekly. If you see the previous slide it explains why to do this.

  10. This is telling the computer to scan all local hard disks weekly at 10:00 every Friday. See previous slide.

  11. This is confirming that the scanning will take place at 10:00 every Friday of every week. See previous slide.

  12. This is the “Techno” folder with the 4 sub folders created in it. These are created to store your files and make your computer more organised. If you do not keep your computer organised it will be harder to find files.

  13. This is copying work over into the new folders. This is helping the computer to become more organised. See previous slide where it explains why this should be done.

  14. This is what the copied over folder looks like.

  15. This is what it looks like after the folder is compressed. It has been compressed to make less space, it can be opened up again at a later date but you need the excess space.
