  5. Música tradicional: The majority of the people of Panamá are considered mestizos or persons of mixed European and indigenous ancestry. There is also a strong Afro-Panamanian population. In the 1840’s, immigrants from Jamaica, Trinidad and other Caribbean islands came to work. A mix of indigenous, European and African influence contributed to the diverse music history of Panamá.
