That we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ.LET US PRAYPour forth, we beseech Thee, O Lord, Thy grace into our hearts, that we to whom the Incarnation of Christ Thy Son was made known by the message of an angel, may by His Passion and Cross be brought to the glory of His Resurrection. Through the same Christ Our Lord. Amen.
Our Father, Who art in heaven, Hallowed be Thy Name. Thy Kingdom come. Thy Will be done, on earth as it is in Heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.
I offer You the Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity, of Your dearly beloved Son, Our Lord Jesus Christ, in atonement for our sins and those of the whole world.
For the sake of His sorrowful Passion, have mercy on us and on the whole world. x3
Holy God, Holy Mighty One, Holy Immortal One, have mercy on us and on the whole world.
Come, Holy Spirit
Fill the hearts of your faithful
And kindle in them the fire of your love.
Send forth Your Spirit, O Lord,
and they shall be created.
And You will renew the face of the earth.
Let us pray.
Who taught the hearts of the faithful
By the light of the holy spirit,
Grant that, by the gift of the same spirit,
We may always be truly wise,
And ever rejoice in his consolation.
Through Christ our Lord. Amen.
Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known
that anyone who fled to your protection, implored your help
or sought your intercession, was left unaided.
Inspired with this confidence,
I fly to you, O Virgin of virgins, my Mother;to you do I come,
before you I stand, sinful and sorrowful.
O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions, but in your mercy hear and answer me. Amen
St. Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle.
Be our defence against the wickedness and snares of the Devil.
May God rebuke him, we humbly pray, and do thou, O Prince of the heavenly hosts,
by the power of God, thrust into hell Satan,
and all the evil spirits, who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls. Amen.
Angel of God My guardian dear To Whom His love Commits me here
Ever this day Be at my side To light and guard To rule and guide.
Kindle in us, Lord,
the spirit in which the blessed martyrs of Douai laboured,
so that filled with this spirit,
we may love what they loved
and do as they taught.
You search me and you know me
You know when I sit and when I rise
You perceive my thoughts from afar
None of my ways are hidden from you.
Before ever a word is on my tongue,
You know it O Lord, through and through.
Praise be to Thee, O Lord Jesus Christ,
For all the benefits which you have given us,
For all the pains and insults which you have borne for us.
O most merciful Redeemer, Friend and Brother
May we see you more clearly
Love you more dearly
And follow you more nearly
Day by day.
Teach us, good Lord
To give and not to count the cost
To fight and not to heed the wounds
To toil and not to seek for rest
To labour and to ask for no reward
Save that of knowing
That we do your will.
O Christ JesusWhen all is darknessAnd we feel our weakness and helplessness,Give us the sense of Your Presence,Your Love and Your Strength.
Help us to have perfect trustIn Your protecting loveAnd strengthening power,
So that nothing may frighten or worry us,For, living close to You,We shall see Your Hand,Your Purpose, Your Will through all things.By St. Ignatius of Loyola
O Most Gracious and holy Father,
Give us wisdom to perceive you
Intelligence to understand you
Diligence to seek you
Patience to wait for you
Eyes to behold you
A heart to meditate upon you
And a life to proclaim you.
Through the power of the Spirit of Jesus Christ,
I shall do good, I shall do his work;I shall be an angel of peace,a preacher of the truth in my own place, while not intending it,
if I do but keep his commandmentsand serve him in my calling. Therefore I will trust him.Whatever, wherever I am,I can never be thrown away.
I ask not to see,I ask not to know,I ask simply to be used.
God has created me to do him some definite service; He has committed some work to mewhich he has not committed to another.I have my mission – I may never know it in this life,
but I shall be told it in the next.I have a part in this great work; I am a link in a chain,a bond of connection between persons. He has not created me for naught.
Lord, make me an instrument of your peace.Where there is hatred, let me sow love;where there is injury, pardon;where there is doubt, faith;where there is despair, hope;where there is darkness, light;and where there is sadness, joy.O Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seekto be consoled as to console;to be understood as to understand;to be loved as to love.
For it is in giving that we receive;it is in pardoning that we are pardoned;and it is in dying
that we are born to eternal life.
Holy Spirit, come into my heart;
draw it to Thee by Thy power, O my God.
Preserve me, O ineffable Love,
from every evil thought;
warm me, inflame me,
with Thy dear love,
and every pain will seem light to me.
My Father, my sweet Lord,
help me in all my actions. Amen.
Let nothing disturb you,Let nothing frighten you,
All things are passing away:God never changes.
Patience obtains all thingsWhoever has God lacks nothing;
God alone suffices.
I implore you, good Jesus,
That as in your mercy
You have given me to drink with delight
The words of your knowledge,
So of your loving kindness
You will also grant me one day
To come to you,
The fountain of all wisdom,
And to stand for ever before your face.
St Bede the Venerable (673 – 735),Monk, Doctor of the Church, Father of English History
Pour upon the darkness of my mind
a ray of your brightness
and clear me
of the twofold darkness
of sin and ignorance,
in which I was born.
Direct my progress and perfect the completion of my task:
You who are true God and true man, who live and reign world without end. Amen.
Dear Father, by Your wondrous loving-kindness toward us, You gave up Your Son.
Dear Jesus, in loving-kindness
You poured forth your blood
and cleared away
the darkness of sin
by Your magnificent
You broke the bonds of death
and rose from the grave
as a Conqueror.
You reconciled heaven and earth.
O my God!
I ask of Thee for myself
and for those whom I hold dear,
the grace to fulfill perfectly Thy Holy Will,
to accept for love of Thee
the joys and sorrows of this passing life,
so that we may one day
be united together in heaven
for all Eternity.
Above all, I give you my heartthat you may love in me your Fatherand all people.I give you my whole selfthat you may grow in me,
so that it is you, Lord Jesus, who live and work and pray in me.
Lord Jesus,I give you my handsto do your work.
I give you my feet to go your way.
I give you my eyesto see as you do.
I give you my tongue to speak your words.
I give you my mindthat you may think in me.
I give you my spirit that you may pray in me.
God be in my head and in my understanding.
God be in my eyes and in my looking.
God be in my mouth and in my speaking.
God be in my heart and in my thinking.
God be at my end and my departing.
In your unbounded mercy,
we ask you to forgive us, o God, for all these sins committed by us,
and to forgive us for our constant failuresto think and speak and act
according to your will.
We repent, O God most merciful, for all our sins;
for every thought that was false or unjust or unclean;
for every word spoken that ought not to have been spoken;
and for every deed done that ought not to have been done;
for every word and deed that has given others pain;
and for every wish that pain should befall others.

May all beings dwell in supreme blissfree from all sorrow and suffering.
And may all being rest in great peacefree from all selfishness, addiction, indifference and hatred.

Cry out with joy to the Lord, all the earth.
Serve the Lord with gladness;Come before him singing for joy
Know that he, the Lord is God. He made us, we belong to him]; we are his people, the sheep of his flock.
Go within his gates giving thanks Enter his courts with songs of praise; give thanks to him and bless his name.
Indeed how good is the Lord
Eternal his merciful love,
He is faithful from age to age.
There is One God.
He is the supreme truth.
He, The Creator,
Is without fear and without hate.
He, The Omnipresent,
Pervades the universe.
He is not born,
Nor does He die to be born again,
By His grace
shalt thou worship Him.
Lord, source of eternal life and truth, give to Your shepherd, the Pope, a spirit of courage and right judgement, a spirit of knowledge and love.
By governing faithfully those entrusted to his care may he, as successor to the apostle Peter and vicar of Christ, build Your church into a sacrament of unity, love, and peace for all the world.
We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ, Your Son, Who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever. Amen.
Almighty God, who gave to your servant George boldness to Confess the Name of our Saviour Jesus Christ before the rulers of this world, and courage to die for this faith:
Grant that we may always be ready to give a reason for the hope that is in us,
and to suffer gladly for the sake of our Lord Jesus Christ; Who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever.
Father of goodness and love,
hear our prayers for the sick members of our community and for all who are in need.
Amid mental and physical suffering may they find consolation in your healing presence.
Show your mercy as you close wounds, cure illness, make broken bodies whole and free downcast spirits.
May these special people find lasting health and deliverance, and so join us in thanking you for all your gifts.
We ask this through the Lord Jesus who healed those who believed. Amen
O God, send forth your Holy Spirit
into my heart that I may understand,
into my mind that I may remember,
and into my soul that I may meditate.
Inspire me to speak with piety, holiness, tenderness and mercy.
Teach, guide and direct my thoughts and senses from beginning to end.
May your grace ever help and correct me,
and may I be strengthened now with wisdom from on high,
for the sake of your infinite mercy.
O Lord Jesus Christ, Who said to Your Apostles:
"Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you,"
regard not my sins but look on the faith of Your Church,
and give us that peace and unity which is according to Your Will:
Who live and reign, God, world without end. Amen.
