  3. Bylaws Amendment Rationale • The responsibilities associated with a combined Vice President-Operations and Community Outreach requires a significant volunteer effort, which has hampered our ability to fill the position. • This proposed amendment divides the responsibilities between two positions—Vice President, Operations and Vice President, Community Outreach. • The Vice President, Operations would be accountable to the President for managing the chapter operations and managing our progress against the Chapter Strategic Plan. • The Vice President, Community Outreach—also accountable to the President—would be externally focused on reaching target populations in the community for support and collaboration on common goals and objectives. • By dividing the responsibilities, the chapter is more likely to attract skilled volunteers for each position and achieve the goals and objectives within the Chapter Strategic Plan.
