  1. Mariemont Elementary PTO Summer Reading Program Everyone that completes the PTO Summer Reading Program will receive a lunchtime treat at the Summer Reading Celebration in the Fall. Students can also participate in Heifer International’sRead to Feed program. Simply negotiate a pledge amount with your family and read, read, read! In the fall each grade level will choose animals to donate to the program based on the amount they earn. Heifer International is a nonprofit organization that works to end world hunger through the gift of farm animals and training. Families who receive an animal repay the loan by passing on one or more of their animal’s offspring to another family in need. Read to Feed is a reading incentive program that pairs reading with an opportunity for Service. To participate:Read this summer, complete the other side of this card and return to your teacher by: Friday, September 13, 2013. The spirit of this program is to encourage students to maintain strong reading habits over the summer, ideally reading 15-30 minutes every day. Please see the guidelines on the reverse side of this card and use your best judgment. Please Note: If you misplace this card, check the PTO website for a duplicate or submit on a piece of paper! Thanks!
