  1. Peter Anderson • Ministry Update • of SHARING THE TRUTH MAKING DISCIPLES The “And let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith….” Hebrews 12:1-2 We’re just one week away! In less than a week, students will have moved into their new housing, have waved goodbye to their parents, and started looking for ways to get involved on campus. It’s an incredibly unique time, and arguably the most defining period of their lives. For freshman students they can quite literally start fresh and become who they want. In addition to groups for practically every world-view imaginable, the 600+ available student groups (at the U of M alone) include the “Gingers and Friends” and the “People Watchers” clubs. Needless to say, there are plenty of ways for students to make an impact. Some good, some bad, and some eternal! I’m convinced that every single one of these student needs to come to terms with Jesus and what He did for them. Without saving faith in Christ, they can never fully experience deeply rich love and relationship with God. The biggest joys for me last year were seeing students’ lives changed as the guys I led trusted God with big decisions and clung to God’s promises in Scripture through tough times. This year, I’ll be working at the University of Minnesota and University of St. Thomas. My main duties include making more disciples for Christ, leading small group Bible studies, sharing the Gospel on campus, and heading up various events, retreats, and outreaches. I can’t wait to share stories with you as the Lord works through me this year! PRAYER -Please pray for the incoming freshman classes at both the U of M and St. Thomas to be full of students eager to know the real Truth! -For our staff team and student leaders to have impactful conversations as we follow-up with students in each dorm on campus. -For students to be directed and empowered by the Holy Spirit as they step back into classes, dorms, and campus job settings. -That I would “run with endurance” and be full of faith as the busiest 6 weeks of the year begin! Story Spot! John, an incoming freshman at the U, and I met through our parents. He’s excited for all that college promises, including new friends and the freedom to try new things. We got lunch the other day and I helped share some insight on classes, getting involved, meeting people, and my own experiences. I challenged him a bit too, “Instead of just doing the typical college thing, why not think of God’s perspective in every situation. If God is God, He probably has a better idea about how to have the best college experience, right?” It was encouraging to see his face light up as he expressed interest in getting to know Jesus more. Thank you for joining me in this great adventure. Please feel free to contact me and share how I can pray for you! Peter.Anderson@cru.org | 952.393.3227 1435 Hampshire Ave S.
