Partnerships • TRICARE: It’s Your Choice, Make It Healthy • The top two military benefits—commissaries and medical (TRICARE)— have partnered to get consumers thinking about making healthy food choices to improve health and control their weight. • Commissaries and industry are encouraged to work closely with local nutrition, health and wellness, and fitness personnel for commissary “nutritional tours” and events. • “Healthy Choices for Life” is a DoD driven TRICARE initiative aimed in part at curbing the growing trends of obesity among military families. • DeCA’s tie-in under the weight management portion features an “It’s Your Choice, Make it Healthy” theme.
Partnerships • Military OneSource • Whether its help with child care, personal finances, emotional support during deployments, or relocation information, etc., Military OneSource is there for military personnel and their families... 24/7/365 days a year! • Interactive Web site includes locators for education, child and elder care, online articles, referrals to military and community resources • Face-to-face counseling sessions, couples concerns, work/life balance, grief and loss, adjustment to deployment, stress management, and parenting. • Military OneSource is provided by the DoD at no cost to active duty, Guard and Reserve and their families.
