  1. Generating Leads Through On-Line Social Networking Women on the Move!

  2. On-Line Social Networking without getting addicted? • LinkedIn • Facebook • Twitter • Website • Blog • HARO • And more!!!!

  3. LinkedIn v. Facebook v. Twitter • LinkedIn - generally used for business to business type networking • Facebook – social networking • Twitter – both with benefits of instant communication

  4. LinkedIn connects you to those in your network. You can search for people in your network and in your area of business. More formal than Facebook Profile is resume-like

  5. Facebook • Facebook can be used for social connections with friends, colleagues, highschool classmates, etc. Or you can make it more formal for business networking.

  6. Get Your Name Out There, But Protect your Privacy! • Here's a good link to learn about Facebook privacy settings. You don't want just anyone viewing your profile unless it is a purely business profile.

  7. Twitter = Facebook on Crack! • Use Tweetdeck to organize your tweets. • Use proper etiquette • Post a bio so people will follow you when you follow them.

  8. Really, the question is To be Found or Not to be Found? Design a site – that's easy My brother designed mine. Who finds you? Depends on SEO – not so easy Google ranking is huge. Google alerts lets you know where you are. Websites – to be or not to be?

  9. Googlebots – They are your friends! • Sounds a little creepy – googlebots. But, think of them as little spider things that creep all over your webpage or blog and identify the purpose of the page. Helping Googlebots identify you is an integral part of SEO to increase your rank on google.

  10. Blogging...Isn't that for kids? Nope. It's is the best way to generate business online, IMHPEO (In my honest partially educated opinion! :)) Try Blogger(easier) or Wordpress (harder, but you can do so much more with it) So much you can do I can't put it all here, but blog away! It's an easy way to generate SEO. Psst> A secret: Lots of my ideas came from those I follow (from far, far away) on Twitter and Solosez. Blog! You can do it! And must!

  11. This is the door to your golden marketing opportunity! Do not pass it by. Help A Reporter Out.

  12. Sign up, for free. You will get 3 emails per day. No spam. Check the list of 25 inquiries to see if you might be the “expert” the reporter is looking for. I did it. Now I will be in a national magazine in the Spring, photos and all. HARO = Help A Reporter Out

  13. Listserv – May be your single greatest tool • Check to see if there is a listserve specifically geared for your business. Some are free, some require membership. • ie. solosez (a listserve for solo attorneys)

  14. Who cares. Start slow. Start easy. And learn quick with the resources that you've learned today. There is sooooo much more out there that I don't know. I'm learning. Everything I've learned, I've learned in the last 3 months. Seriously. Psst: Secret #2: If you need help with computer issues and don't want to call the GeekSquad cuz they charge a fortune! Call my son. (Well, call me – 798-8529 - and I'll put him through to you. :)- ) He's my goto guy and my whole neighborhoods tech expert. He can hook you up. Look what he's done for me. :) Not a computer genius?

  15. Thanks for putting up with me. Feel free to call me anytime you have a question. (717) 798-8529. Really. I have no friends :), so when the phone rings I get all twittery to talk to someone! Remember: This is fun stuff, and can generate business. But it does take time, and patience. I would love to hear your success stories. Go out and spread the love (of your business)! What are friends for?
