  1. Salman Khan says his jaw still hurts owing to trigeminal neuralgia. 201cIt doesn2019t hurt as much, but it does,201d he admits.

  2. Trigeminal neuralgia is a nerve disorder that causes a stabbing or electric-shock-like pain in parts of the face, owing to pressure on the trigeminal nerve, which carries pain, feeling, and other sensations from the brain to the skin of the face.

  3. Salman admits that nothing much can be done to treat this condition, except hope that medical science finds a cure. 201cMedical science has advancements. So we guess, something will happen,201d he says, smiling.

  4. Salman was operated upon in the US during Eid last year. The operation lasted for a few hours. Eight months since then Salman claims he is better but has occasional bouts of pain.

  5. Salman described how he had been living with pain for the past few years: "During (the making of) Partner, it (the pain) started on the top left side of my face. So, whenever it would get pressed, it gave me a solid current.

  6. "During Veer, the pain came down towards the lower jaw and it was so painful that it used to take me about an hour and a half to eat an omelette. If there was a choice to give this pain to my worst enemy, I would not give it. They wouldn't be able to take it."

  7. Salman keeps doing his bit as a socially concerned citizen. He sells his paintings, and the proceeds are used for the welfare of the underprivileged.

  8. Salman Khan, who runs charity organisation Being Human for underprivileged people, feels that due to media coverage movie stars tend to have an edge over others who sincerely work toward the betterment of society. And he is not too happy about it.
