John Wilkes Booth’s first plan was to kidnap the president, take him to the South, and exchange him for confederate soldiers. This was the plan that did not turn out right.
John Wilkes Booth’ s plan failed as you can see, so the only thing that he could do was assassinate President Lincoln. That was the only plan of his that had succeeded.
Some of his accomplices were Lewis Powell, George Atzerodt, John Surratt, David Harold, Michael O’Laughlin, and Samuel Arnold. Some of the people that helped John Wilkes Booth didn’t even realize that he was using them.
Before Lincoln was assassinated, he went to go see a play that John Wilkes Booth was starring in. Lincoln said that John Wilkes Booth was his favorite actor. • John Wilkes Booth’s plan was to kill the president, the secretary of state, and the vice president. With the help of his accomplices, all the attacks would start at exactly 10:15 pm on Good Friday.
