  2. Classroom Rules • Be polite and respectful – no putdowns • Have all appropriate materials and supplies on your desk when the bell rings • Follow directions the first time they are given • Be prepared with homework everyday • Take care of your classroom

  3. Signora Brownell promises that: • I will treat you with respect • I will work hard to ensure your academic success • I will work hard to ensure your emotional wellness • I will actively involve you in the learning process • You are ALL an important part of the class and learning environment

  4. Classroom Procedures These procedures are for your benefit so that you can do your work with less confusion. Follow these procedures and you will succeed. • Use the restroom before entering the room (you do not need to ask permission before the bell rings) • Upon entering, gather all your materials (notebook, books, dictionary, sharpen pencil) -Be ready to learn • Begin working on “domandeveloci” right away -Neither the bell nor the teacher begins the class, YOU DO! • Please, do not get up in the middle of a lesson to throw out paper. • Participate actively in conversations/discussions • Put all materials back in an orderly manner prior to leaving the classroom • Stay in your seat until the bell rings and please push in your seat and arrange the desk neatly before leaving

  5. If you are absent… • Go on the Weebly to get the homework (email me if directions are unclear) • If you are absent, gather work from the white bin with your section label • YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE HOMEWORK EVEN IF YOU ARE ABSENT

  6. When I would like your attention… • I will clap 5 times and you will clap 2 times

  7. Materials for Success • Pen/ pencil • Italian notebook (only for Italian, it will fill up) • Flashcards (bring some to every class) • Though not required, an Italian dictionary is very useful for this class

  8. Your way to an "A" • Homework- Do your homework EVERY night Not doing homework will effect your grade. • Oral Participation- speak, speak, speak- even if you make several grammatical errors just speaking in the language will raise your overall average greatly! • Study every day, even if for 5-10 minutes so that you do not have to “cram” before a test/quiz -Make good choices. YOU are in charge of your own destiny to succeed or not. Develop good self-discipline now, you will be glad you did. • Be respectful. Come to class with a positive attitude; respect Signora and your peers. It will make you feel good, create a healthy learning environment, and is the right thing to do.  • Ask questions! If you have a question, so does your peer. Guaranteed! • Most importantly, have fun!
