EFFECTS OF OZONE ON LUNG FUNCTION

Healthy airway

Inflamed airway due to ozone inhalation

PHYSICAL SYMPTOMS: Cough, throat irritation, pain, burning, or discomfort in the chest when taking a deep breath, chest tightness, wheezing, or shortness of breath.

CAUSE: Injury to airway epithelial cells followed by a cascade of other effects.
