Stoic: seemingly indifferent to pleasure or pain • Stoics were members of a philosophical movement from ancient Greece to Roman era. • Think of a stoic person as one who endures mental and physical pain without complaint.
Sybaritic: marked by a luxurious or sensual way of life • Ancient city Sybaris—famous for wealth and luxury • Think: Rich Kids of Instagram. Now you want to punch them.
