The ISPRS Workshop held in Beijing on September 16, 2005, focused on services and applications of spatial data infrastructure. Organized by multiple ISPRS Working Groups, it brought together experts to discuss the integration of spatial data for emergency services. Later, the 6th Open Meeting of the Human Dimensions of Global Environmental Change in Bonn highlighted global challenges, emphasizing the importance of data access in developing countries. With various sessions on environmental change, adaptive management, coastal zones, and sustainability, these events fostered collaboration among researchers and policy-makers.
