Benefits Why in Kosovo? • Less low birth-weight infants, lower rates of disability and developmental delays = lower cost for the system • Better school achievements = lower expenses on other forms of education • More women into work force = economic growth • Improved parenting = reduced child protection costs • 16% childrenwithreducedgrowth • 12 maternal deaths reported in 2009 • 40% live on less than 2.50 US$ per day • Children with disabilities do not fully enjoy their rights • 15.5% of 0-5 age enrolled in preschool education • 26% enrolled in preschool/pre-primary level • 75% intake rate in pre-primary education
