  6. Robert E. Lee High School International Baccalaureate Program IB Program • Diploma Program • Six exams in 6 areas of study • TOK • CAS • Extended Essay • Certificate Program • Take courses in areas of interest only

Lee High School International Baccalaureate Program IB Diploma Program-Core Requirements Complete course work in six academic areas and achieve at least 24 points • Language A: English or 1st Language • Language B: Second Language • Individuals and Societies • Natural Sciences • Mathematics • The Arts and Electives

Lee High School International Baccalaureate Program IB Diploma Program- External Requirements Successfully complete each of the following: • Theory of Knowledge TOK • One credit course • Ties the components of the program together • Extended Essay • 3,200 – 4,000 word essay • Independent research in area of choice • CAS- Creativity, Action Service • Approximately 150 hrs over two years, balanced between components.

Do I have strong organizational skills, strong study habits, and the desire to devote extra time to my courses? Am I thinking about IB courses in the future? Honors courses generally offer students: • Greater emphasis on analysis • Analytical skill development • More reading and writing required • You do not have to take ALL Honors classes in 9th grade, even if you may want to be full IB in the future

  13. Preparation Take as many honors level core classes in 9th and 10th grade as possible and still be academically successful. While all honors classes are not required, they will increase readiness for IB level work. Apply oneself with motivation and preparation in all classes. Robert E.
