  6. Coefficient of Restitution (COR) COR is way of comparing how high a ball bounces in relation to the height from which it was dropped. The higher the ball bounces, the higher the COR. COR = V2/V1 V= velocity

  8. Why does a golf ball have dimples? • The dimples on a golf ball pull a layer of air around the ball, reducing the drag on the ball and allowing it to fly further.

  11. Why does a tennis ball have fuzz on the outside? • The rough texture helps the ball grip the court so that it bounces cleanly. It also helps players to add spin to the ball with their racquets.

  12. Why does a baseball have stitches? • It’s not just to hold the ball together! The stitches pull a layer of air around the ball, reducing the drag on the ball allowing the ball to fly further.
