Overview of OTIA III State Bridge Delivery Program and Project Management Methods
The OTIA III State Bridge Delivery Program employs three key delivery methods that include region delivery, in-house design, and outsourced design leveraging Oregon Bridge Delivery Partners (OBDP). With a total of 293 bridges combined into 72 bundled projects, they are executed in five stages. Among them, 14 bundles are delivered via design-build and the remaining through various contracts. OTIA III State Bridge Delivery Program There are three basic methods that are being used to deliver the Program Presented by Deborah Geideman, Deputy Program Manager, BDU
Project Delivery Methods • Region Delivery • In house design • Outsourced design • Delivery through Oregon Bridge Delivery Partners (OBDP) • Outsourced design through subcontracts • Management of Design through Agency ATAs (Stage 1) • Design-Build
Summary of Delivery • Total “Work” Bridges in the Program = 293 • The bridges have been combined “bundled” into 72 separate projects • 24 Region Delivered Bundles • 34 OBDP Delivered Bundles • 14 Design-Build Bundles
Summary of Program Stages • The 72 bundles are delivered in 5 Stages • Stage 1 – 14 Bundles • Stage 2 – 21 Bundles • Stage 3 – 17 Bundles • Stage 4 – 12 Bundles • Stage 5 – 8 Bundles • All bundles in Stages 1-3 are assigned with the exception of the Willamette River Bridge • There are 10 bundles in Stages 4 & 5 unassigned
