  1. Behold The "Lamb of God"

  2. The throne of God and ofThe Lamb shall be in it • This is of great interest to all believers • We are seeking eternal rest at the foot of the throne of God • We are like marksmen shooting at a target, we look earnestly at the target • Rev 22:3 And there shall be no more curse: but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it; and his servants shall serve him:

  3. John remembers his younger days with another John • John 1:29 The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world. • John the Baptist struck a note which vibrated throughout the whole life of John the Divine. In Patmos John recalls his early impressions, as old men delight in the scenes and sayings of their youth.

  4. Jesus had Lamb like qualities • Isa 40:11 He shall feed his flock like a shepherd: he shall gather the lambs with his arm, and carry them in his bosom, and shall gently lead those that are with young • Matt 15:32 Then Jesus called his disciples unto him, and said, I have compassion on the multitude, because they continue with me now three days, and have nothing to eat: and I will not send them away fasting, lest they faint in the way.

  5. But this Lamb had to take on himself the sins of the world… • Matt 26:39 And he went a little further, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt. • Jesus knew this was his sacrifice to provide a way for mankind to avoid the death brought about by sin in their lives

  6. Living under the Law of Moses all knew that …. • Every morning and every evening a lamb was sacrificed in the tabernacle • A pretty little lamb that sounds much like a baby when crying out, was brought to the Priest, and its warm blood was made to flow in pain, and it was offered on the alter. • In much the same way, Jesus they took in silence, passive, submissive and nailed him to the cross, a lamb to the slaughter.

  7. Living under the Law of Moses all knew that …. • There he hung, men jeering him, till at last the sun could bear the sight no longer, and veiled his face, the earth could no more endure to be the stage for such a tragedy and began to rock and reel. • The very dead were stirred as though they could not slumber in their graves – up from the grave they arose • Darkness covered the Earth in the daytime

  8. The events of the Lamb’s Crucifixion • Matt 27:50-54 Jesus, when he had cried again with a loud voice, yielded up the ghost. 51 And, behold, the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom; and the earth did quake, and the rocks rent; 52 And the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints which slept arose, 53 And came out of the graves after his resurrection, and went into the holy city, and appeared unto many. 54 Now when the centurion, and they that were with him, watching Jesus, saw the earthquake, and those things that were done, they feared greatly, saying, Truly this was the Son of God.

  9. “Behold The Throne”as seen from the Lamb The Lamb is God in front between man and God • Remember Ex 12:13 When I see the blood • Rev 5:6-8 And I beheld, and, lo, in the midst of the throne and of the four beasts, and in the midst of the elders, stood a Lamb as it had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God sent forth into all the earth. 7 And he came and took the book out of the right hand of him that sat upon the throne 8 And when he had taken the book, the four beasts and four and twenty elders fell down before the Lamb, having every one of them harps, and golden vials full of odours, which are the prayers of saints.

  10. On the thronewith “All Power” • Matt 28:18-20 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. 19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world.

  11. God has “Highly Exalted Him” • Phil 2:9-13 Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name 10 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; 11 And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. 12 Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. 13 For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.

  12. You come to the throne of the Lamb and it is the throne of God • Phil 4:19 But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus. • Is this the same God of Isa. 12 • God has not changed but Christ has changed life possibilities for the sinner • Rev 1:17-18 And when I saw him, I fell at his feet as dead. And he laid his right hand upon me, saying unto me, Fear not; I am the first and the last: 18 I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.

  13. Could you feel at home in Heavenwithout the Lamb of God • Rev 22:3-6 And there shall be no more curse: but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it; and his servants shall serve him: 4 And they shall see his face; and his name shall be in their foreheads. 5 And there shall be no night there; and they need no candle, neither light of the sun; for the Lord God giveth them light: and they shall reign for ever and ever. 6 And he said unto me, These sayings are faithful and true.
