  2. Current Classes Offered: • Basic Curriculum Instructor • CDL Third Party Tester • School Bus Inspector Train-The-Trainer

Basic Curriculum Instructor • Approximately 32 Hours (not including lunches). • Minimum of 15* participants, maximum of 25 participants. • Not required by Florida Statutes or Florida Administrative Code (State Board of Education Rules). • Must conduct a 30 minute presentation on one of the units in the curriculum, with the use of at least one additional visual aid.

  4. CDL Third Party Tester • DHSMV Program, presented as authorized by FDOE. • 50 hour, intensive course (5 full days). • Nightly homework. • Physically demanding. • Strict program requirements for successful completion. • Requires approval (with background check) from DHSMV to attend class. • FDOE does not issue final certification.

  5. School Bus Inspector Train-The-Trainer • Have 1 year of experience as a certified School Bus Safety Inspector safety Inspector. • Must be thoroughly familiar with the current version of the Florida School Bus Safety Inspection Manual. • Candidates must possess skills and abilities required to present training materials • Director will be required to “request” a new inspector through FDOE

What’s Next? • Waiting on the green light from DHSMV to conduct a CDL Tester class. • New Basic Curriculum Instructor class before Summer (tentatively). • Complete annual training catalog published each Summer to allow for proper budgeting of the classes throughout the school year by directors. • Possible On-Line Training programs with GoTo Training service, recently acquired by FDOE.
