  2. Introduction to Hypersexualization Ask yourself… What is hypersexualization? What does it mean to you? Where can you find hypersexualization? Why do you think society uses hypersexualization? How can we recognize hypersexualization?

  3. What Hypersexualization is… Definition for Hypersexualization:"The act of Hyper sexualizing, to make extremely sexual, to accentuate the sexuality of..." Ex. the front cover of a magazine, the model or super star is made to look flawless. (Air brushed, hair extensions, and tons of makeup.) Where did the name come from: This word didn't just pop out of anywhere, it was always here, there just wasn't a defined word for it, in giving it a name, in other words it became real, a phenomenon and a serious social problem.

  4. Things to ask yourself… Did you know what Hypersexualization was? Where do you see Hypersexualization? How do you think Hypersexualization evolved? Why do you think hypersexualization is a problem now? How do you think that we (society) can fix Hypersexualization?

  5. Get Into Groups… (Groups of 2-3)

  6. In your Groups answer the following… Take some time in your groups to look closely at these pictures. What is the first word that pops into your head when you look at this picture? Why did you pick this word? In your groups share your words... Discuss why you (personally) chose your word.

  9. In your group… Now with all three of your words I want you as a group to make a sentence, this sentence could be a positive, motivational, or about the society we live in today! Try to keep the message on a positive note... Example:Say my group came up with these three words, Sad, Fake, and Beauty. Our sentence could look a little something like this: "We think that it is sad that our society is objectifying women, and how women and girls alike are going to extreme measures to create thisfakeimage of themselves, what women need to do now is take back their own image and find their true Beauty within themselves" ect..

  10. What Is Toddler’s and Tiara’s…? On any given weekend across the country, toddlers take the stage wearing makeup, spray tans and fake hair to be judged on beauty, personality and costumes. Toddlers & Tiaras follows families on their quest for sparkly crowns, big titles and lots of attention.

  11. These little girl’s are from the show “Toddler’s and Tiara’s” what do you think these little girls are learning about life and society? what do you think their future looks like? Who are the girl’s from Toddler’s and Tiara’s? More pictures…

  13. Question’s… “All questions are to do with when you were Four to Six years of age" At age Four to Six, if you can remember, what was your life like? Were you ever worried about your appearance? Did you ever notice beauty? In other words wetheranother girl was pretty? Did you ever feel as though you needed to lose weight? Did you ever wear make-up? Did you ever dye your hair? Did you ever get fake nails and spray tans? Had hair extensions fake eyelashes, or wore provocative clothing? Felt as though you were not good enough? Forced into something you did not want to do?

Gallery of Offenders: “A pageant girl is someone who gets on stage, smiles, and when they get off stage, they don’t [smile].” —Brooklyn, 10-year-old pageant contestant The girls wear, fake finger nails and toe nails, hair extensions, flippers (fake teeth) get there eyebrows waxed, teeth whitened, spray tans, hair dye and high lights, and wear tons of makeup, age range is anything between just a few months old up...
