  7. How Are WE Doing? • Minimum standards. • Accountability • Coaches’ Assistance/Communication • We are facilitators not enablers. • Help provide a foundation, but develop the skills, know-how within themselves to become better students.

  8. At-Risk Population • Currently, SASS is monitoring XX number of student-athletes who could be considered “at-risk.” • Recruiting Good Student-athletes • Admissions requirements • Vetting during the recruiting process • Limiting exceptions • Cost of under prepared student-athletes? Worth?

Cost Saving Measures • Looking for opportunities to save department resources by utilizing relationships and collaborative efforts. • Created a multi-media study space in collaboration with new reporting line/relationship with the Office of Undergraduate Studies. • Office Renovations. • IPADS • Knowing who to ask for help? • Doing your due diligence. • Be open to doing things differently. Think outside the box. • Learning Community • Faculty & Community engagement • Mission of the University

Cost Saving Measures (continued) • Sharing Responsibilities to save cost (S.H). • Student-athletes feel a presence of SASS in their world • Doing the job of monitors, etc. • Utilizing faculty & student-athlete relationships • Maximize professional development dollars • No frivolous spending (want vs. need)
