  • Student must demonstrate proficiency in all 8 content areas of the system of learning results
  • Student must demonstrate proficiency of the Guiding Principles
  • Student must demonstrate any local requirements

  • Proficiency based graduation systems must allow students to:
    • “gain proficiency through multiple pathways”
    • “demonstrate proficiency by presenting multiple types of evidence”

“The Commissioner may grant a waiver of one or more school approval requirements.”

  • Waiver request will need to identify “the specific information about the reason for the waiver request and a date by which the proficiency-based graduation requirement will be met.”
