  2. Hydrogel 50ml Hydrogel is a clear gel that thickens the consistency of watercolor, allowing better control, adding texture and gloss. Mix it with any water-based paint or apply it pure with a spatula on the surface of paper or absorbent ground prior to painting. Hydrogel dries slowly, reduces the flow of color, and remains water soluble.

  4. Glycerin Glycerin is chiefly used as a moistening and plasticizing agent, particularly for aqueous mediums such as egg white, gelatin and gum. Add it to glues and starches to make them more flexible and prevent cracking. Makes watercolor wetter and last longer on the palette.

  5. Clove Oil Clove oil is a colorless or pale-yellow oil derived from the clove tree cultivated in the Moluccas or Spice Islands (now Maluka of Indonesia), Madagascar, Zanzibar, and the Philippines. The principle component of clove oil is eugenol. It is very slightly soluble in water and soluble in organic solvents. It has a spicy aroma and the taste of cloves.

  6. Gum Arabic Powder Gum arabic is the basis of the best watercolors. It can be used to create interesting textural effects when mixed with watercolor washes. Useful in making emulsions with egg tempera and resins. Continue warming the mixture at that temperature and stirring to dissolve the gum arabic completely.
