Teapots. What is the purpose of a teapot?. It is a vessel meant to hold and pour hot water or beverages. This means it must include 4 specific parts: A chamber (belly) for holding the liquid. A handle (so your hand doesn’t get burned while you are pouring).

  2. What is the purpose of a teapot? It is a vessel meant to hold and pour hot water or beverages. This means it must include 4 specific parts: A chamber (belly) for holding the liquid. A handle (so your hand doesn’t get burned while you are pouring). A spout for the liquid to be poured out of. A lid to keep heat in and to keep the liquid from spilling out when it is being poured.

Assignment #5: Teapots • Requirements: • Create 5 different detailed sketches for your teapot. • Your teapot must have a unique theme and elements or parts that are inspired either from nature or objects that are important to you in some way. Think of things that symbolize you and your personality to use as the theme for your teapot.It should look like more than just a plain old teapot. • Your teapot MUST include these 4 things: • a) A chamber or belly to hold at least 2 cups of liquid • b) A handle • c) A spout that points upward so it will not spill • d) A lid that will stay on the pot even when it is being tipped forward to pour. • 4. You may use one or a combination of the following methods to create your teapot: • a) coils • b) slabs • c) pinching • 5. You should include textures and additional pieces that have been scored, slipped, and blended in so they are permanently attached.
