What questions arise from this situation? • Why is this student in this situation? • What can be done at home to assist this student? • What can be done at school to assist this student? There is a need for after school care!

Thayer Central After School Program The mission of the TCASP is to provide quality, affordable, accessible child care services that enhance the physical, social, emotional, and educational development of children with an emphasis on help with homework, nutrition, manners, and fun in a safe and friendly environment.

  3. Thayer Central After School Program (TCASP) • Students in grades K – 5 • Location: Thayer Central Primary School • Full-time staff hired (1:15 ratio) • Assisted by a Board of Directors

  4. TCASP Goals • Provide quality child care which parents can rely upon throughout the school calendar. • Provide affordable, accessible child care services. • Provide support for the classroom teacher and student through homework assistance.

  5. Emphasis on the following: • Homework • Nutrition • Manners • Fun

  6. Hours of Operation • 3:30 – 5:30 (School days only) Fees & Payment • $5.50 / session (part-time) • $5.00 / session (full-time) • $6.00 / session (drop-in) There is a $1.00 discount for multiple children enrolled in TCASP.

  7. How to get started…. • View other programs. • Complete a needs assessment • Get “key” individuals on board • Identify space / location • Identify staffing and funding TCASP
