  17. NOTES To ask how much something is: C’est combien? [say com beeyah] nasal How much is it? To ask how much a specific item is: Combien coûte…? [com beeyah koot] How much is …? EXAMPLE: Combien coûte le sandwich?

  18. NOTES To SAY how much something is: Il coûte (an amount). [eel koot] It costs … NOTE: this is for masculine items!!! For Feminine items: Elle coûte (an amount). [ell koot] It costs … EXAMPLE:une glace = Elle coûte 5 €.

  19. NOTES IMPORTANT: To say “it” in French, you must know if an item is masculine or feminine. Masculine  use il for “it” Feminine  use elle for “it”

  20. NOTES To ask how much an order is (more than one item): Ça fait combien? [sah fay com beeyah] nasal How much does that make total? To answer how much an order costs: Ça fait (an amount). [sah fay …] That makes …? EXAMPLE: Ça fait 10 €.

  21. NOTES To ask a friend for money: Prête-moi… [preht mwah] Lend me… Example: Où est mon porte-monnaie? Dis, prête-moi 5€.
