  2. I picked cutting firewood for my SAE because it’s a project that can be useful for the rest of my life. Burning wood for heat is an excellent way to heat your house and save money instead of using propane. We have a wood burning furnace in our basement and I have been helping my dad with cutting and stacking firewood for years.

  3. First what we do is cut up the trees and throw them into a big pile

  4. Then we stack them into piles and put a tarp over them to keep them dry so they will burn when we put them into the furnace.

  5. Skills • Knowledge of use and dangers of a chainsaw • How to use a chainsaw • How to stack wood precisely • Determination to heat my house • Knowing what type of trees burn the best • Having strength to carry big logs
