  1. Quality Petroleum Equipment Solutions for Over 20 Years Reducing/Eliminating MLLD False AlarmsThe ARM-4073

  2. What is an ARM? Auto RepressurizationModule ARM-4073

  3. Why Do We Build the ARM-4073? To increase confidence in the leak detection system, by eliminating thermal induced false alarms.

  4. How Does Thermal Contraction Cause Slow Flow? Thermal contraction reduces volume/pressure in the line when the submersible pump is off. Vapor pockets form in the line to replace the (contracted) liquid.

  5. Thermal Contraction Continued The leak detector cannot refill the line and compress the vapor pocket in the 4-5 seconds available. Therefore: leak detector is still in slow-flow at opening of nozzle = false alarm.

  6. How Does the ARM Combat Thermal Contraction? By cycling the submersible to repressurize the line.

  7. Doesn’t That Defeat the Purpose of the Leak Detector, Preventing It From Working? Not in the manner the ARM is designed to work. This is the difference between an ARM and a cycle timer.

  8. How Does the ARM Function? Allow the submersible to stay off long enough for the leak detector to reset if there is a 2 GPH leak (or less). Cycle the submersible on and check for a leak.

  9. How Do We Know the Leak Detector Is Reset? Each line is unique. To ensure the leak detector is reset, we have the installer measure the bleed-back (line resiliency).

  10. Reset Continued Bleed-back gives us the unique volume each line has before a leak detector is reset. Cycle times are based upon this volume (set at install).

  11. The ARM-4073 Works to Eliminate Leak Detector False Alarms Owners benefit through reduced service calls. Greater Volume (Less down time). Less customer frustration.
