  2. The Seven Continents • A continent is defined as a large unbroken land mass completely surrounded by water, although in some cases continents are (or were in part) connected by land bridges. The seven continents are North America, South America, Europe, Asia, Africa, Australia, and Antarctica. The island groups in the Pacific are often called Oceania.

  3. Introduction • We have learned that there are seven continents on our earth. Did you know that they are all very unique and different? Wouldn't it be interesting to find out some special things about each of the continents? 

  4. Your Job • You will explore your continent and find out: • The size • The people • Which Hemisphere it is in • The oceans that surround it • Some of the countries that are on it • 3 special things which make your continent unique!

  8. Where is your Continent? • Which Hemisphere is it located in? • Which oceans surround your continent? • Does your continent touch other continents? Which ones? • Look at the globe or world map to find out.

  10. Grading Rubric • You will be graded individually on: • Notes: should be clear, complete and neat • Written report: At least three paragraphs with correct spelling and punctuation. • Continent art project: representing facts about your continent

  11. Grading Rubric on Group Project: • Worked quietly and efficiently • Worked as a team, everyone sharing in on the work. • Power Point covered all the subjects • Power Point was attracted and easy to read • Credits were listed
