  1. The Development of a Simulated Autonomous Vehicle Controller Status Report #703/07/2006 Prepared for: August Allo Department of Electrical Engineering University of Texas at San Antonio Prepared by Design Group 7 (DG7): Zaid Albaker Ely Don Lagazo Samuel Oliveros Jr. William Vo To design a controller that allows an interface between a set of controlled tests with a simulator

  2. Problem being addressed • DG7’s objective is to develop a controller that allows a set of designed tests to be transmitted and tested through simulation • This will help lower equipment damage, cut costs on part replacement, and verify the integrity of the designed tests

  3. Design Problems to Date • Deciphering the output signals being sent by the JR Radio. Once this is complete we will be able to determine a way to replicate this signal ourselves.

  4. Tasks Completed • Continued working with output sequences on JR Radio to decipher what kind of signal is being output by control. • Decided to use a 3.5mm mono jack, to connect controller to Futaba joypad instead of Futaba. • Due to midterms, our allotment of time has gone towards other classes. This downtime will only slightly affect our progression towards the completion of this project. This time will be made up over the Spring Break week.

  5. Upcoming Tasks Hardware • Procuring stereo/audio female port for interface between microcontroller and Joystick Software • Interfacing software with hardware (Python) • Determine command outputs/sequences from JR radio • Develop embedded code design to replicate JR radio sequences
