Think of an event in US History between the time you have genuine memories and now. • Your job is write a 3-4 page narrative about how you related to an event in history. • What have you witnessed in your life? • The 2008 financial meltdown? • The tragedies in Boston and Sandy Hook? • The election of Barack Obama? • The ongoing Arab Spring? • Texas’ recent passage of abortion limitation legislation? Why is the event historic and what are your impressions?

  3. I wrote a personal narrative a few years ago about my experience with Persian Gulf War of 1991 (No, I was not there! Please read it to get some ideas. Requirements • 3-4 typed pages • 12-pt font Times New Roman or Calibri • Include an introduction with thesis statement, body paragraphs, a conclusion, and follow the conventions of academic writing • Any sources that you use (not are required) must be cited using the Chicago Manual of Style • Put your heading at the top; no need for a cover page • Attach the writing rubric AND the signed plagiarism statement to the back
