  1. You Can Make a Difference The story of Eggroll

  2. Us, Team GEEGLE-A We are Team GEEGLE-A! We are doing Destination ImagiNation at Sunset Heights Elementary School. We teamed up with Buddy Up.

  3. There were seven challenges, and we chose the World Canvas, which is the outreach challenge. We chose it because we are animal lovers and wanted to help them. We even are incorporating other interests, like building things, into the project. We made dog toys (left) and bracelets (above) to sell at a party in Portland, Maine. The party is scheduled for March 24, 2012.

  4. Our project is addressing one community need: homeless animals. So many animals don’t have homes, but we are focused on helping animals that shelters are having trouble getting adopted homes. That is different than just helping a shelter, though, because shelters just take in homeless animals and take care of them while they find a home for them.

  5. Buddy Up, the organization we’re working with, is different than shelters; they take animals that have run out of options and search and search for homes for them. They drive the animals around. They call people who were interested in the animals at one point in time.

  6. Here’s an example of what Buddy Up does: This is Betsy, an animal that Buddy Up worked on. She was a stray, but she was found and brought to a shelter. Betsy stopped grooming, and her health started going downhill. Once Buddy Up found a foster home, though, she cheered right up, and finally found a forever home.

  7. Eggroll Facts He has been with Buddy Up since November He is up to date on all vaccinations He is neutered He needs a home with no small animals He is a five year old Shar Pei

  8. Eggroll Facts (continued) He needs a home with an experienced dog owner He gets along with some dogs, not others He needs a permanent home, but can also go into a foster or adoptive home He has short fur, which means less grooming He has a great personality He is soooo cute!

  9. Eggroll…

  10. …and more Eggroll…

  11. …and one other dog.

  12. Another pet worth considering: This is Ryder. Just like Eggroll, Buddy Up is looking for a home for this sweet little pup. He is a 5-year old Staffordshire Bull Terrier mix. Just like Eggroll, he is looking for a permanent or foster home currently. He wants to have no cats and probably no other dogs. He loves snuggling and loves people.
