  1. Rachel’s landforms By: RachelFowler

  2. Florida’s beaches The waters along Florida beaches are generally warm compared to the rest of the U.S.A. Florida beach sand texture in the northwest along Pensacola and Panama city beach is fine and very white. Beaches along the Atlantic tend to shade toward light beige with a somewhat coarser texture. Florida has over 1,197 miles of coastline with 663 miles containing sandy beaches. No part of Florida is more than 60 miles (96 km) from its beaches. Beach erosion is a concern and measures are underway to protect , preserve , and restore the costal sandy beach resources of the state. Clearwater Beach

  3. Florida’s hills Did you know a hill is a naturally raised area of land? It is not as high or as steep as a mountain most of the hills in Florida are found in the northern part of the state. A hill is also a landform that is higher than the land around it.

  4. Florida rivers Most of the rivers have about 5,600 cubic miles of water that flow into the worlds rivers each year. Did you know rivers carry away almost 22 tons of rocks , soil , and sand from the land into the sea or into lakes? A river is any natural stream of water that flows in a channel with defined banks. Current usage includes rivers that are multichanneled , intermittent , or ephemeral in flow and channels that are practicing bankless. Kissimmee River

  5. Florida swamps The swamps are often found in regions of low relief associated with rivers that supply the water. The latter characteristic distinguishes a swamp from a marsh in which plant life consists largely of grasses. Swamp wetland ecosystem characterized by mineral soils with poor drainage and by plant life dominated by trees. Cypress Swamp

  6. Florida lakes Any large body of slowly moving or standing water that occupies an inland basin of appreciable size is a lake . Definitions that precisely distinguish lakes, ponds, swamps, and even rivers and other bodies of non-oceanic water are not well established. Lake Jackson
