In this unit, we will explore the properties of congruent triangles. You will learn about key congruence criteria, including SSS (Side-Side-Side), SAS (Side-Angle-Side), AAS (Angle-Angle-Side), and HL (Hypotenuse-Leg) for right triangles. We will kick off with a bellringer activity focused on Thanksgiving reflections and math challenges such as finding distances and midpoints. Practice assignments will be available through Math XL, with opportunities for partial credit and bonuses. Join us as we dive into the world of geometry!

Unit 6 Congruent Triangles
Bellringer…MondayHope you had a fabulous Thanksgiving holiday! • Today, I am thankful for __________. • Find the distance between: (3, -8) and (-15, 9.5)
The code: • S = Side • A = Angle
SSS • If 3 sides of one triangle are congruent to the 3 sides of another triangle, then the triangles are congruent.
SAS • Two triangles are congruent if there are two sides with an angle between them corresponding to congruent parts of another triangle.
Bellringer…Tuesday • Find the midpoint of AB: A (15, -12) B (-4, 0)
ASA • Write it!
AAS • Two angles and a nonadjacent side correspond the congruent parts on another triangle
HL • RIGHT TRIANGLES ONLY • The hypotenuse and leg of a triangle correspond to congruent pieces of another triangle.
Practice: • Math XL 9 • Math XL 8 (past due, but partial credit is still available until Wednesday) • Bonus for this 9-weeks is also available until Friday, November 30
