  1. Business Plan • GreenAgg Technologies, LLC was formed to acquire an existing manufacturing plant located in King George County, Virginia using proprietary patented processes for recycling ash. • This existing plant in Virginia converts ash residues from an adjacent coal fired power plant into a sustainable “green” building material referred to as Versalite™ or Manufactured (lightweight) Aggregate. • The plant target re-commissioning date is the fourth quarter of 2011. The plant has been idle since early 2009. • Major “Value Added” capital improvements will commence shortly after the planned restart (2-4 months after the plant recommissioning) by adding new flyash storage silos next to the existing recycling plant, adding additional extrusion capacity as well as updating associated plant Programmable LogicControls (PLC) systems in order to maximize plantperformance and future manufacturing capabilities.

  2. Proposed Sources and Uses of Funds 1) GreenAgg Technologies, LLC (GAT) will use the proceeds of a Tax Exempt Bond issue (and private equity) to complete facility upgrades to the former Universal Aggregate LLC (UA) plant. As part of this transaction GAT will also acquire the Intellectual Property (“IP”) and create (bring back) 15 “green collar jobs”. 2) The technology acquired through this transaction will also be marketed to other coal-fired power plants and GreenAgg Technologies will market the Versalite™ a recycled, fossil fuel free, sustainable construction material in the local Virginia, Maryland and D.C. markets as well as other construction markets where viable. 3) GAT is currently evaluating several new project (plant) opportunities.

  3. Ash to Aggregate

  4. Process Flow A The “ash” feedstock storage silo at the power plant contains the Spray Dryer Ash or FGD. The silo holds up to 1,200 tons of combustion byproducts or “residuals”. D C B Thepneumatic conveyance (piping) system delivers ash feedstocks from the power plant to the GreenAggs plant across the railroad tracks - the Process Building. E A B C The ash feedstocks enter the Process Building to begin the patented mixing and mechanical processing procedures to combine ash feedstocks with the catalyst and produce the green pellet or extrudate. E The finished aggregate is stored or stockpiled between Process Building and Curing Vessel where the finished Manufactured Aggregate is then loaded into trucks for delivery to end users. D The extrudates are conveyed to the patented non-thermal Curing Vessel where the green extrudate are cured and harden. After curing the extrudate is conveyed back to the Process Building for sizing (crushing). The finished product exits the Process Building via a radial stacker.

  5. The GreenAgg Product • The GreenAgg product can be used as a component in a variety of construction (cementitious) applications. • This sustainable product would be preferred in many applications due to its combined lighter weight and good performance characteristics when compared to “mined” or natural aggregates currently used in similar applications. • Due to its fly ash content the Versalite™ qualifies as a recycled or sustainable building component when used in concrete block, retaining wall block, and in concrete or asphalt road construction. • The patented technology uses no external fossil fuels to create this sustainable product (exothermic chemical reaction provides the heat) and it conserves natural resources. • The process does offset significant carbon.

  6. Production Scale Conversion

  7. Tested at Production Levels • This plant and the Manufactured Aggregate has undergone substantial testing and technical evaluations during initial Department of Energy funded evaluations 2004-2006. • A Documentation Report was prepared and submitted to the Department of Energy (DOE) validating the technology (2007). • The former UA Birchwood, Virginia plant produced just over 41,000 tons of Versalite™ in 2007 and 80,180 tons of Versalite™ during 2008. • Testing was performed during 2009 on block made by the former Chicago Block and Brick using the Manufactured Aggregate (Versalite™) produced at the King George County plant. • Fly ash and coal combustion residuals used in concrete qualifies for certain “credits” under the U.S.Green Building Council’s LEED™ rating system for sustainable construction.

  8. U.S. Green Building Council • The U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) is a Washington, D.C.-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization committed to a prosperous and sustainable future for the nation through cost-efficient and energy-saving green buildings. • The Green Building Certification Institute (GBCI) is an independent, third-party organization and administers the LEED™ certification program • LEED™ stands for Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design • LEED™ projects are evaluated to ensure precision in the design, development, and implementation of the processes used (during construction) to increase and measure green building performance (certification) and green building practice (credentialing).
