Natural Healing • In Germany there is an officially recognized profession as a natural healer called “Heilpraktiker” • In 1939 a law for natural healing was created. • Before that, people could practice natural healing freely. • Training in natural healing takes about 2-3 years. • There are several forms of natural healing in Germany.

Alternative or Complimentary Medicine • Natural healing or alternative medicine is used when normal medicine provides no answer. • Phytotherapy is the use of plant-derived products and it’s used a lot in Germany • About 70% of Germans approve this alternative medicine • Medicine is generated through a process which the basic substance is diluted with lactose or alcohol • “Naturveilherfahren” and “ganzheitlicheMedizin” are terms used in Germany to describe this type of medicine.

Alternative Methods • Feldenkreis Method: It’s a health method that helps people regain their feeling of balance. • Neural Therapy: gentle low dose injection of anesthesia to “reprogram” the nervous system. • Rolfing: This is a massage that helps with back pains and posture problems. • NAET Method: It is a method based on acupunture, acupressure and kinesiology to relieve allergies. • TCM(Traditional Chinese Medicine): based on the knowledge of herbs and energy of the body.
