  8. Experiencing Guerrilla Literacy Learning Do you know the etymology of the word “ERROR”? Error contains a positive meaning: travel, divert, wander. All actions concerned with research, curiosity and adventure. Essential attitudes in learning a new language. It comes from the Latin and means derailment, from the verb errare: meander, wander Therefore “error” does not mean: ZERO IN THE REPORT CARD IT’S WRONG! DELETE! PUNISHMENT RED PEN

Some approachestomistakes: • create a positive environment • suspension of judgment • share autobiographical events linked to language • learning and error-making • the teacher makes mistakes, too • detecting mistakes as a class research • mistakes are opportunities
