  7. Classical and Worldly Values • The poverty of the middle ages gave people nothing to celebrate, but their soon to come afterlife. The new wealth of the Renaissance made people want to celebrate life in the here and now. • Humanism: A focus on humans and their achievements. People wanted to create and party. • Secular – Concerned with the here and now instead of spiritual matters of the afterlife.
