  1. Tagxedo “tag cloud with style” By: Laura Keldie

  2. To begin • Tagxedo is located on the Drawing tools section of the site. • On the welcome page, click start now from there you will be taken to the Create page where you can begin your word cloud.

  3. Developing • Under Words click Load... • Enter a series of words in the enter text space provided • The more words the better it will look! • Submit your words

  4. Developing • Under Optionsselect the triangle next to ‘Shape’ and choose from their selection • Next, still under Options, click Layout Options... and make sure that 'Allow Replication:' has been marked for 'yes‘ and accept. • This allows for the words to be repeated, better filling the picture to make it more lifelike.

  5. Editing • From there you can edit anything under the category Respins; change the theme, font, or orientation but remember to lock it when your done or it will likely change when the page is edited. • The orientation decides which direction the words will appear in your image.

  6. Editing • Exploring under Layout Options? • Emphasis- Increasing this makes the words larger • Tightness- Decreasing this makes the words closer • Background Opacity- Decreasing makes the background lighter, while Increasing makes it darker • Edit and explore the other options at your will, but keep in mind that if you mess up you can always click History… under Options to select any of your previous inventions!

  7. The final product • Save when your finished as a thumbnail or regular JPG image.

  8. Peace
