Under Constantine the Romans quit persecuting Christians. Made Christianity the official religion of the Roman Empire Frankish King Who had the job to protect Christianity. The Pope named him Emperor of the Holy Roman Empire Brought Christianity to Ireland

  2. Eastern Orthodox Church Christianity Practiced by the Byzantine Empire Emperor Basilian Missionaries Two most important were Cyril and Methodius. Rules for religious life. The people of the Byzantine Empire loved to discuss religion. Icons Controlled the empire and the religion. Symbols honored by some Christians. The people of the empire believe that the emperor represented Jesus on Earth The Byzantine Empire temporarily outlawed icons. Later they were brought back because of their artistic value.
