  • Each state maintains complete, current listing of all relevant state & national resources.
  • Involve families in the design & evaluation of EI programs & services.
  • Funding for development of media for public awareness & to recruit new professionals into the field.
  • Require private insurance coverage for hearing aids & related audiological services.

Modify state & national health coverage to include all specific types of EI services included in Part C of IDEA.

  • Increase funding for EI.
  • Provide funds to train parents as advocates.
  • Provide funds/resources to parents to acquire effective communication & language skills to work with their children.
  • Develop certification standards to ensure highly qualified professionals.
  • Essential services/interventions are provided in a timely manner.
