Ground

Taxi Call (prior to taxi) 

3E123: “North Ground, 3E123, taxi, with information (ATIS).”

North Ground: “3E123, taxi to runway 14, Squawk 0123.”

3E123: “3E123, runway 14, squawk 0123.”

Outbound Call to Sandbag (while in runup) 342.8

3E123: “Sandbag, 123, outbound.”

Sandbag: “Roger, 123 outbound.”

Takeoff

Takeoff Call (when number one at hold short and aircraft in front has begun takeoff roll) 

3E123: “North Tower, 3E123, Takeoff.”

North Tower: “3E123, wind 010 at 5, cleared for takeoff runway 14.”

3E123: “3E123, Cleared for takeoff.”

(Tower clearance could be “Hold short,” or “Taxi into position and hold.” Readback appropriate clearance.)

Departure

Departure Call (when clear of NSE traffic pattern and climbing out of 700-800’ MSL) 

3E123: “Pensacola Departure, 3E123, passing 1,400 (actual altitude).”

Pensacola Departure will look for your squawk and confirm your Mode C (altitude readout)

If not receiving transponder Pensacola will inform, confirm transponder in ALT. If in ALT and Pensacola Departure still does not receive your squawk, IP will take command in rear and use AFT cockpit transponder.

Pensacola Departure: “Navy 3E123, Radar contact.”

3E123: “3E123, roger.”

Level Off Call (only required going to Area 3) 

3E123: “Pensacola Departure, 3E123, level 4,500.”

Pensacola Departure: “3E123, change to my frequency 286.0.”

Check in on 286.0

3E123: “Pensacola Departure, 3E123, 4,500’.”

Pensacola Departure: “3E123, Climb and maintain 8,500.”

When Clear of Class C Call 

3E123: “Pensacola Departure, 3E123, Clear to the (west, north, south), cancel radar advisories.”

Pensacola Departure: “3E123, Radar service terminated, Squawk 1200 (or VFR), frequency change approved.”

3E123: “3E123, roger.”

Returning To Base (RTB)

Get ATIS CH20

Pensacola Prearrival CH17

3E123: “Pensacola Prearrival, 3E123, Site 8 Recovery with information (ATIS).”

Pensacola Prearrival: “3E123, when 4 miles west of Site 8, Squawk 1234 and contact Approach on local channel 5.”

Initial Contact with Pensacola Approach
