Insects! We began our study of insects with the arrival of tiny silkworms and 24 silkworm eggs in our classroom this April. We soon discovered that silkworms are really caterpillars, that they eat lots of mulberry leaves, and they poop! (It’s kind of yucky to clean out their cages every few days.) Some of the silkworms have died, others are growing so big, and all of the eggs hatched. We’re eager to see if any begin to spin cocoons. We’ll keep you posted. We also took a trip to the Insectarium at the Taipei Zoo. Thanks to all the moms who joined us!
