About Ritinjali • Established – 1995 • Focus areas – Education, Community Development • Working with marginalized communities - Delhi, Gujarat, Uttaranchal, Tripura and Meghalaya • Slum dwellers, jail inmates, poverty stricken individuals • Aim  Awareness, self-induced social responsibility (encourage volunteer work)

  3. Projects Communication for Empowerment “I do not want my house to be walled in on all sides and my windows to be stuffed. I want the cultures of all the lands to be blown about my house as freely as possible” – Mahatma Gandhi • 2 and a half month course • Children from all around the world Students’ profile, selection process

  4. Projects (Contd.) Tihar Jail • Detailed rehabilitation and counseling programme • Provide free legal aid to inmates • Associated with NariNiketan, an organization that works for women who are the victims of crime and social abuse • Runs a library, organizes income generation, craftwork activities, facilitates product sales, organizes cultural activities and physical fitness programmes

  5. Projects (Contd.) DALIL EKTA CAMP ( NEW DELHI ) • Slum cluster comprising around 250 jhuggis, located behind the VasantKunj Police Station • Providing basic education to children • The centre is divided into 3 sections, based on the student’s current knowledge levels • Classes at the Centre from 2.30 to 4.30 pm, 6 days a week • Camp  Government Schools • Provides the children with books and stationary as and when required, as well as with clothes, blankets, etc.

  6. Products • Candle Making – 500 candles every month • Hand-made paper bags (training at the Vocational Centre)
