VISION Optimum agricultural land use, sustainable food security, sound environmental management and comprehensive integrated rural development MISSION The Department together with its partners and communities champion quality agricultural, veterinary, and environmental and conservation services and drives comprehensive integrated rural development for all the people of KwaZulu Natal (Amajuba District).

  3. OBJECTIVES OF THE DEPARTMENT Improve local, national and international trade access and competitiveness. Provision of food security Farmer development and support Integrated sustainable natural environmental management Integrated and transformed service delivery

  4. The ADM LED review study conducted indicated: ADM is considered as among the most fertile regions in the province Decline of other economic sectors have increasing focus on agriculture, in the interest of increased production value and employment creation. INTRODUCTION

  5. FOCUS AREAS ARE: Food Security Mechanization Crop production Fencing of Arable Land & Grazing Camps Irrigation Schemes Livestock Programme Land Reform Support Programme All above will be aligned to ADM Agric Plan: Cabinet initiative To prevent double dipping of services INTRODUCTION

  6. Extension Services Provide Sound Agricultural Advises to farmers Provide relevant Training to farmers (Skills Dev) Farmers’ Courses: Informal & Formal-accredited Farmers’ Demonstrations Farmers’ day Project Development and Management ACTIVITIES IN THE DISTRICT

  18. THROUGH PARTNERSHIP WITH RELEVANT STAKEHOLDERS INCLUDING: ADM, PRIVATE SECTOR, OTHER DEPARTMENT WE WILL IMPROVE AGRICULTURE AND IT WILL CONTRIBUTE POSITIVE TO OUR DISTRICT ECONOMIC GROUTH AND DEVELOPMENT CONCLUSION
